Filled only with Super Badger Hair, the Emperor shaving brush is turned in three sizes of which this is the medium size. The handles for all Simpsons brushes continue to be individually turned on a lathe, polished and filled by hand using a knot of selected Chinese badger hair. With the proper care the brush should last for many years. Simpsons state that the density of hair in their shaving brushes means that a brush stand, for inverting the brush is not required.
